A foolish incident at a Lexington (Ky.) store has me doubting I’ll be spending any future money at the home furnishings chain.

Customers alerted store employees to a child locked in a hot car in the parking lot and asked that 911 be called. Store employees refused, saying that what goes on in the parking lot is not their responsibility. Fortunately some other 911 call was placed, Lexington police arrived, smashed the window, got the kid, and arrested the neglectful mom.

Here’s the crazy bit: BB&B corporate basically backed the store employees’ decision to say no to 911. And you can think John Edwards and his trial lawyer buddies for that don’t do anything and you won’t get sued stance.
