As the pictures Jon Ham posted show, the AFP NC Patients First bus made its final North Carolina stop in Raleigh on Saturday. You had to be there to appreciate the concern and enthusiasm for market, vs. government options for health care reform.

Not only did 2,800 people sign the AFP petition on Saturday, all 3,000 or so who eventually assembled (don’t know if this includes the kids and infants?people just kept adding in from ad hoc parking all up and down Atlantic Ave.) withstood scorching heat in the 90’s and an asphalt parking lot without much shade that made it nearly too hot to breathe. All to hear speakers Dallas Woodhouse, Jon Sanders, Nurse Renee Elmers, Brian Balfour, and Dr. Brent Elmers.

Evidence that the rally attracted lots of positive additional attention comes from the fact that trucks and cars on Atlantic Avenue?for the two hours or so that rally attendees positioned themselves?blasted horns in spontaneous support as they passed signs held by attendees rallying at the site. Being there, and letting our legislators know this government health care takeover isn’t acceptable?that’s what its all about.
