Gov. Pat McCrory has announced that a Belgium company will be locating its North American manufacturing headquarters to High Point.
No, the Belgian company won’t be making waffles. Yes, the company will be getting corporate welfare.
McCrory and Commerce Secretary Sharon Decker announced that BuzziSpace Inc., which manufacturers workplace furniture, will operate out of a renovated building and plans to create 113 jobs for the area.
The governor plans to give the company $100,000 from the One North Carolina fund, courtesy of the N.C. taxpayer. That comes to about $885 per job.
