Today’s traffic disasters from a early-morning icing were a bitter reminder of the Quarter-Inch That Conquered Raleigh. Nearly all of my routes inbound this morning were shut down owing to wrecks, from I-40 to Hwy. 401 to Hwy. 1010 and apparently also Hwy. 70. The remaining ones were impossible to reach owing to the crush of rerouted traffic.
I swear, Roy, that is why I was late.
