Two democrats Rep. Van Braxton of Lenoir County and Rep Cullie Tarlton of Wautaga joined the Republican caucus in voting against the budget.  Second Reading vote was 64 to 54; Third Reading, just past midnight, was 64 to 53  (Rep Danny McComas R-New Hanover was absent for the 12:11 am third reading vote  – must have gone home to bed!).
