The US Department of Energy is sponsoring a webinar for local government officials to train them to use behavior modification techniques on their citizens. It seems that DOE believes that it is government’s job to manipulate citizens in ways they believe are in their best interest. In other words, the “administrative state” believes that citizens are sheep to be controlled and manipulated by their “superiors” in government who know what is best for them.
This has been a longtime practice by environmental educators. Children are currently subjects of sophisticated behavior modification by some teachers. Getting kids to conform to “environmentally correct” behaviors is one of the top agenda items of the North American Association for Environmental Education which will hold its national convention in Raleigh in October.
DOE Webcast July 28: Introduction to Using Community-Wide Behavior Change Programs to Increase Energy Efficiency
The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Technical Assistance Program (TAP) for state and local officials will present a webcast this Thursday, July 28. The webinar will explore the impacts and implementation of programs that aim to change the way people use energy when they know more about how energy works in their homes and businesses.
During the webcast, the presenters will provide information they have learned through implementing these sorts of programs across the country. They will discuss different kinds of feedback programs, the way different types of programs impact consumer energy use, and recommendations of how to best develop feedback programs.
This presentation will take place July 28, from 3:00 p.m. to 4:15 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time.
