Commie countries have always been good at spectacular displays of human synchronization. That’s the benefit of enslaving billions of people. You can get a few thousand to do whatever you want.

A Korean TV station somehow got into Bird’s Nest Stadium and videotaped a rehearsal of the opening ceremonies of the Beijing Olympics. Yes, it’s spectacular and amazing. Just like those huge displays in Red Square used to be. Or the North Korean spectacles that we’ve seen over the years.

Our big events tend to me less synchronized, more ad hoc. If that’s the price of freedom, I’ll pay it.
