The Winston-Salem Journal repeats its desire for ‘progressive’ leadership on the Forsyth County Board of Commissioners, which will select its new chairman tonight:

As the Forsyth County commissioners prepare to select their new chairman tonight, let’s hope they’ll put politics aside and choose someone who can finally lead the way in making their board the progressive body that Forsyth County needs.

Commissioners ought to be more aggressive in tackling issues such as health care, the environment and, most important, economic development.

Hold onto your wallet when you read that last part. It’s also interesting that the Journal believes a ‘progressive’ chairman will finally lead the board into 21st century when big government is sooo 20th century. But when you look at the results of the election, it’s clear a lot of people think that way.
