Last month, Raleigh chose a company to run its BikeShare program.  The city’s now looking for public comment on proposed station locations.  It follows approval of money for the program last year.  But as I wrote a few weeks ago, this could be done without public money.

And all of this makes me nervous.  I’m worried about what the program will cost, about the city spending more and more to keep it afloat despite slow demand.  Raleigh should be leaving this to private groups.  There’s just no need for the city to get involved.
