To celebrate Cinco de Mayo, the McDonald’s at 3710 Western Blvd. in Raleigh will be hosting a party tomorrow from 4 to 6 p.m. La Ley, 96.9 will be broadcasting live. Kids (and I guess adults) can take a picture with Ronald McDonald from 5 to 7 p.m., and of course, there will be prizes…

I don’t get it. The closest McDonald’s comes to Hispanic food is their Premium Southerwestern Salad (with grilled OR crispy chicken). They also have a Sausage Burrito on the breakfast menu. Both menu items lack inspiration from the rich tradition of Hispanic cuisine.

And don’t get me started on Ronald McDonald…
