"Black told the Observer in 2005 that he had not had an extramarital affair with Norris"

That is The Charlotte Observer Web story yesterday. Today the line is rendered, “Black, who is married, told the Observer in 2005 that he had not had an affair with Norris.”

All this shaking out from the Kevin Geddings trial in Raleigh.

The odd thing is that although the Uptown paper of record might have been told by Black in 2005 that he did not have an affair with former aide Meredith Norris, the paper evidently did not tell readers about that statement before yesterday. At least I can find no story which mentions Black’s statement.

Why is that? Just asking.
