Faithful commenter Papadoc made me curious with this post on Petticoat Junction star Lori Saunders. And we all know how dangerous it is to make me curious about something.
I vaguely remember Junction from during what had to be its first run and I know it knocked around syndication for some time. Not unlike its countrified cousin Green Acres. But I had no specific recall of Lori Saunders.
So I fixed that. As it turns out Lori is now an artist, a vegetarian, and a grandma.
Also turns out that her Bobbie Jo Bradley character was something of a stand-alone hit back in the day. It crossed over from Junction to Green Acres for several episodes and Saunders played Bobbi Jo on a couple episodes of The Beverly Hillbillies, one of which was called “Christmas in Hooterville.”
If that does not cry out for a remake, I don’t know what does.
