Big NPR story–apparently Morning edition host Steve Inskeep is camping out in Charlotte for a while—on Democratic presidential candidate Michael Bloomberg’s influence over the Queen City heading into Super Tuesday, where Bloomberg will make his appearance on the primary ballot.

No transcript of the story–it’s a seven-minute listen–but here’s the gist—Bloomberg, rich dude that he is–made “philanthropical” donations to the city, including $2.5 million to help Charlotte reduce its carbon emissions. So it’s even less of a surprise that Mayor Vi Lyles endorsed Bloomberg.

What’s interesting, though, is Lyles’ daughter didn’t exactly see eye-to-eye with her mother on presidential politics, as WFAE’s Steve Harrison noted in the NPR story.

Pay to play–that’s politics. Only difference is when liberals pay to play, it’s for “just’ causes such as reducing climate emissions. Right. For what it’s worth, however—at least $2.8 million ( not to mention cost of the TV ads that have been running for quite a while in N.C.)—Civitas Poll has Bloomberg in a dead heat with Joe Biden and Bernie Sanders.
