Well that was short lived.

I actually thought — possibly for the first time ever — that the Bobjohnsons were doing the right thing by refusing to pay too much for Emeka Okafor. But when it came down to it, they paid way too much.

A guy is not worth $72m. if you cannot throw him the ball late in close games — which you cannot do with Okafor because his FT shooting remains horrid. In fact, his FT% has only gotten worse since he came into the league. You end up playing 4-on-5 for long stretches.

But what is done is done. The Bobcats have Okafor locked up for six years now. It is up to Larry Brown to find a way to make Charlotte a playoff team with him on board.
