Remember, high density development is what Charlotte now craves, and it got some last night with the city council’s approval of a six-story condo project for the corner of Carmel and Colony. Childless empty-nesters and independently-wealthy, single “trustifarians” are the coveted demographic now. Officials are even saying it in public now:

“The development as proposed is much better for the environment,” said at-large representative Susan Burgess. “It will cost us less impact on our infrastructure and our school system.”

Expect more of the same in the future.
