In the latest round of tax money going to targeted companies, a.k.a. corporate welfare, Easley awards $36.8 million out of his One North Carolina fund for a solar panel factory. This is in the wake of a new state law just passed last year that mandates a certain percentage of our power has to come from renewable energy. Easley claims this is a good idea because it creates jobs. This is not job creation. This is the 2008 version of Bastiat?s Broken Window – courtesy of the taxpayers of North Carolina.
