Howard Stern’s program got suspended yesterday by Clear Channel Communications because he crossed over the line — again — of indecency. There is a post-Janet Jackson backlash in the broadcast industry, where Viacom and Clear Channel have vowed a zero tolerance policy on over-the-airwaves lewdness.

Needless to say, the on-air talent is squawking. And check out this moronic statement by the union that represents radio hosts:

“From our perspective, the responsibility for complying with the FCC regulations is the burden of the employer. It’s inappropriate for Clear Channel to shift that burden to the backs of its employees.”
