Television and radio audiences had a chance to hear from JLF experts this week. Vice President for Outreach Becki Gray joined John Hood as a panelist on the statewide N.C. SPIN broadcast. Topics included national and state election campaigns, the reorganization of the state Department of Transportation, the North Carolina Community Colleges’ immigration policy, and the governor’s veto of the boat-towing bill. Meanwhile, Vice President Chad Adams spent two hours on Curtis Wright’s morning program on Wilmington’s WLTT, “The Big Talker.” Adams and Wright discussed the expansion of the Wilmington Convention Center, global warming as a mechanism to enact state and local policy, and a variety of issues related to public education. Legal and Regulatory Policy Analyst Daren Bakst joined Lockwood Phillips on WTKF’s “Viewpoints Radio” Thursday to discuss Daren’s latest Spotlight report on energy-efficiency mandates, along with the General Assembly’s recent drought management legislation.
