Sorry, folks. Something there is that doesn’t like a conservation easement – no less an insatiable appetite for more and more . . . and more. It is nice to preserve land, but to require it by contract rather than personal character, integrity, and discretion is another instance of that model wherein a few incorruptible souls micromanage the wild rubes beneath them. Whatever happened to those statements about the ability to own land being inseparable with liberty? Or is liberty just a failed experiment promulgated by misogynist slave-holders in white wigs and tights?
