Davidson County Commissioner Billy Joe Kepley still isn’t happy with the Winston-Salem Planning Organization’s weighted voted system:
“They look at us like a bunch of redneck … idiots……I would take no action on the memorandum and give them an opportunity to address concerns.”
…Kepley complained to his fellow commissioners in October that the group’s weighted voting system was unfair, and he suggested yesterday during a meeting that the county refuse to sign a new memorandum of understanding with the group.
The question is whether or not Davidson would be better off pulling out and having the MPO plan for the area anyway, or to just stick with it and at least have a voice, albeit a limited voice.
