The following are only Buncombe County results: Elaine Marshall squeaked by Richard Burr for Senate, Heath Shuler pounded Jeff Miller for Congress, Tom Apodaca trounced Chris Dixon for state senate, incumbent Mark Nesbitt beat R. L. Clark 3:2 for state senate, Susan Fisher is beating John Carroll by the same ratio for state house, and Tim Moffitt is beating Jane Whilden 5:4.
