The modified Jordan Lake Rules are heading to Gov. Bev Perdue’s desk, where she is expected to sign them into law:

Burlington city officials have said that they are pleased with the modified rules because they give the city more time to make pollution-controlling improvements to its water treatment system and because the adopted rules would provide more flexibility in dealing with existing development than the original rules.

No word yet from Greensboro city officials, who vociferously opposed the rules as they were originally written.
