It occurred to me the other day that the reason people are not upset at Barack Obama for having the same view on same-sex marriage as Miss California is that everyone knows he is lying. I’m sure that this is some sort of outrageous view to hold (see David Frum below), but now I’ve got some support for my view.
This is from NPR’s Scott Simon (emphasis added):
“If you point out, as I have to a couple of e-mailers, that the president’s opinion on gay marriage is more or less identical, the same people dismiss it as a painful insincerity he is forced to adopt because of people like Miss California.”
Translating the NPR new-age obfuscations, this means that they know Obama is lying.
