The News & Observer reports today about a fellow who, while passing through some neighborhood, was aghast to find chickens roaming in a resident’s yard. So, he “started calling government officials to see what could be done about the property….”

Were any neighbors complaining about the chickens? The story doesn’t say.

Were the chickens roaming outside the property? Apparently not.

Were they causing a problem for the guy who was “passing through?” Again, doesn’t look like it.

So why the need for this guy to lodge complaints?

It’s in his genes: he works for the federal government.
