Tonight’s meeting of the Buncombe County Commissioners ended in a lively public comment session. Members of the public attempted to speak about a quasi-judicial matter. Chair David Gantt gaveled them down for their own interest, but they did not understand, or pretended not to. Two speakers were earlier gaveled down for what the chair construed to be personal attacks. Just about everybody was getting the gavel. This played well into the hands of those who would like the incumbents voted out, scaring those unfamiliar with processes into believing tyrants ruled the roost.
