I would absolutely support and vote for a property tax reduction to a revenue neutral level. To do anything else would constitute a hefty tax increase in a time when it can ill be afforded. The average citizen in our county can not afford a 20-25% tax increase. In addition it would further erode the desirability of our fair county as a place that major corporations might seek to relocate an ongoing businesses. With the lessening of the presence of Wachovia Bank we can not afford to shun other businesses that can employ our citizens. To do other than revenue neutral taxation would cause severe repercussions in our county.
