As I stated in an address to the Council on Aging last week, I am in favor of a revenue neutral tax rate. The County Commission needs to be focused on stimulating the local economy, which a revenue-positive budget will not do.

Residents need revenue neutrality to meet the many concerns brought on by the economic crisis. Businesses need revenue neutrality to help them provide the jobs that drive the tax base higher. Our County needs revenue neutrality to keep the residents and busniesses we have, and to encourage new ones to live, work and grow here. This community will bounce back faster if we can keep at least as much of our hard earned money as we do now.
