Voters across North Carolina will have a chance soon to cast three separate votes for one seat on the N.C. Court of Appeals.
They’ll be able to make first-, second-, and third-choice selections for the seat Judge James Wynn vacated when he was appointed to the U.S. Court of Appeals. North Carolina will employ instant-runoff voting to decide the winner of the Nov. 2 race.
Thirteen candidates want the seat, and seven of them gathered at the John Locke Foundation today to give brief statements and answer some questions about their judicial philosophies. JLF and the Federalist Society co-sponsored the forum.
