Long story short, if you missed Saturday’s blogger conference in Greensboro you missed a great deal of fun and very illuminating discussion.

Although I expected to have a good time — and it is always great to see my John Locke Foundation cohorts so we can exchange encoded amino acid chains detailing further instructions for world domination and hacking Blue NC — I came away from the event truly and deeply impressive by each and every blogger I met.

Their depth of commitment to truly informing their readers was on par with any Old Media editor or reporter — probably greater than some (many?) in the profession. As a result, I feel re-energized about the whole process of trying to get an alternative viewpoint out there for the world — and this little slice of it — to see and hear.

Other actual round-ups of the event —

Scott Johnson of Power Line, who left us all wondering just how CBS execs sleep at night.

Mary Katherine Ham of Townhall, on what fun it is to hate John McCain — and may I have convinced her that the FEC and FCC will yet team up to try to choke off political speech online.

Lorie Byrd over at Wizbang!, who clearly has way too much fun blogging and evidently has family in Charlotte.

And Charlotte blogger Sister Toldjah provides a link-rich recap as well.

We also had some live blogging of the event by the Gay Patriot and more here. Bruce Carroll says he wants to blog about Charlotte and NC issues more. Hop to it Bruce, we need you!
