Rick Henderson joins Bill LuMaye on Talk Radio WPTF this afternoon to discuss some of Carolina Journal‘s major stories this week. CJ Executive Editor Don Carrington highlighted his most recent investigative work during an appearance on the WRHT Radio morning program.  Associate Editor Barry Smith discussed election-related legislation during an appearance this week on News 14 Carolina’s “Capital Tonight.”

Statewide syndicated columnist Scott Mooneyham cited in one of his recent articles CJ contributor Karen McMahan‘s report about privacy concerns surrounding public school students’ records. (As Carolina Journal, the publication of the conservative John Locke Foundation, recently reported, a national database to collect information on school students around the country has been under development for more than a year.)

The Lenoir News-Topic reprinted Carolina Journal Radio Co-Host Donna Martinez‘s column criticizing the public education establishment for standing in the way of innovation. The Kernersville News published N.C. Education Alliance Fellow Kristen Blair‘s recent CJ column on school violence.

N.C. Senate Republicans promoted in their daily press emails Associate Editor Dan Way‘s articles on limiting dates for local special elections, eliminating unconstitutional matching funds for elections, changing North Carolina’s certificate-of-need laws, and reforming the state Medicaid program. The governor’s office also promoted the Medicaid story in a mass email, and the Beaufort Observer cited Way’s work.

Henderson also discussed fracking during a panel discussion for a Campbell University law school class. NCPoliticalNews.com promoted his editorial on Gov. Pat McCrory’s first budget plan.
