An editorial this week in the News & Observer took note of Carolina Journal contributor Sarah Okeson‘s work documenting questions about investments of North Carolina’s state pension fund. Meanwhile, when Associate Editor Sara Burrows wrote a CJ exclusive about an unaffiliated legislative candidate’s legal fight to gain a spot on the North Carolina ballot, the Lincoln Tribune picked up the story. Burrows’ work ended up highlighted in the Independent Political Report and on blogs of publications such as the Dallas Morning News. N.C. Senate Republicans also drew attention to the article in one of their daily e-mails. The Lincoln Tribune highlighted two other CJ exclusives this week. In one story, Associate Editor Michael Lowrey documented a recent N.C. Court of Appeals ruling linked to local governments and the information they must provide to surrounding property owners about new subdivision plans. In the other story, Video News Editor Anthony Greco discussed congressional candidates working with the Alliance for Bonded Term Limits. Speaking of bonded term limits, Associate Editor David Bass wrote a column on the same topic for The American Spectator.
