The Journal follows up local blog coverage of Winston-Salem city attorney Blair Carr’s DWI arrest over the holidays, reporting that she “was suspended yesterday pending termination after a city internal review.”

It should be noted that when the Troublemaker reported the incident on Dec. 29, he said Carr was “arrested last night” and charged with DWI. That doesn’t jibe with what the Journal’s reporting:

Shortly after noon on Dec. 21, a workday, Carr was behind the wheel near Yadkinville and Reynolda roads with a blood-alcohol level of 0.28, more than three times the legal limit of 0.08, according to court papers.

She was charged with DWI and possession of an open container of alcohol in her vehicle.

So here we have a city employee behind the wheel with a blood-alcohol of .28 in the middle of the day. Yes, I’d say termination is indeed pending.
