We know for sure that 1096s-style liberals who dominate the Orange County commission have no problem disenfranchising rural voters as part of the commission’s effort to push through a quarter-cent sales tax hike to fund their view that government is the answer, no matter the problem. They’re even willing to incur more cost to put the tax hike on the fall ballot since rural voters — who helped defeat the tax hike last November — will have no offices to vote for in a municipal election. Only the tax hike will appear on rural district ballots. Common sense tells you there will be greater turnout from liberal Chapel Hill, Carrboro, and Hillsborough, and lower turnout from the rural areas.

Per the Herald-Sun, we now know ultra-liberal Carrboro Mayor Mark Chilton doesn’t have a problem with the disenfranchisement plan.
