David Bowden, the Cary homeowner who recently won his free speech case against the Town of Cary over the sign he posted on his house (excuse the language) “Screwed By the Town of Cary” has put up a second sign to explain why he’s so angry at the town. According to the Cary News:

“Still screwed by the Town of Cary – Come see some of Cary’s finest engineering and construction work – Guided tours available – Oh, by the way, now I have lung cancer – but remember I put up a good fight,” reads the new sign on the front of his S.W. Maynard Road home.

Cary officials — led by Mayor Harold Weinbrecht — continue to fight the judge’s ruling against the sign ordinance Cary tried to impose on Bowden. Price tag so far: $225,000.

The spending of $225,000 on this court fight recently became an issue to at least one Cary resident after a group of residents were told by Cary officials there was no money for a police substation. Days later, the council voted to appropriate money for a temporary substation.
