I found today’s N&R article on the possible annexation of airport-area neighborhoods very interesting.

The article raises an interesting question that was not commented upon by a council member: Will the city want property that has declined in value due to the FedEx project?

The worst case scenario, of course, would be for residents of the Cardinal et al. to be stuck with higher taxes on property that has declined in value. But by the same token, it wouldn’t look good for the city to say it couldn’t make money off property devalued by a project it strongly supports.
