When we last left CMS’ top lawyer/not lawyer back in July, she was on the verge of getting a change in her contract to permit her to miss the September deadline to become a member of the NC Bar, a deadline she agreed to back in July 2007.
Bartholomew should have filed to take the February bar exam by now. But there has been much recent behind-the-scenes wrangling on the CMS board — surprise — with some members seeking legal opinions from sources apart from the official in-house attorney.
Makes me wonder what is going on there and if Bartholomew still intends to pass the bar exam next year. After all, it is not like a former Democratic candidate for office and U.S. Labor Dept. attorney might think about what federal opportunities are out there instead. We’ll see. With CMS there is always drama.
