N.C. Elections Board Chairman Larry Leake is now grilling an officer in the N.C. Amusement Machine Association.

Leake asked Richard “Dicky” McCannell of Lexington why there appeared to be “a lot of cash flowing around” in the video poker industry.

Leake also asked McCannell whether he thought cash converted directly to money orders for campaign contributions could help a business owner avoid reporting the cash as income.

Here’s a similar exchange:

Leake: Have you ever been present when someone was asked if they would be okay with their name being named as a contributor to the Jim Black committee, even though they would not supply the money?

McCannell: Not to my knowledge.
