Defense attorneys for the Duke lacrosse players have asked for a change of venue. WRAL also had a story a few minutes ago saying that Judge Osmond Smith also has refused to make public the accuser’s military and medical records, though he says the defense can look at them privately. That story is no longer on the Web site, however. Not sure what to make of that. Below is a screen capture of the only evidence that there was such a story, but when you click on it, it goes to the change-of-venue story.
The fact that Smith is treating this thing like it has any merit at all is troubling. Why isn’t he sending Nifong to the woodshed? I thought he was a no-nonsense judge.
