Out of LA comes word that one of the world’s biggest porn producers, Vivid video, has filed suit against Data Conversions, Inc., AKA Adult Entertainment Broadcast Network (R-rated link) off of Old Pineville Road.
Vivid is trying to stop what is essentially an X-rated version of YouTube — PornoTube — that Data Conversions operates. In short, “mainstream” porn outlets like Vivid are every bit as mad about on-line, on-demand vid sites as non-blue networks and the movie industry are about YouTube. Both are trying to find legal means to compel the sites to both take content down and — this is the tricky part — pro-actively stop users from posting copyrighted material.
There, now doesn’t the Queen City seem just a little more world class? First high-end call girls, now high-tech porn brokers. Vegas here we come.
