America’s second banking capital, home of BoA and formerly Wachovia, Charlotte has a large affluent community in Uptown. But other parts of the city are poor and mostly black, and surrounding areas are dominated by poor white farmers.

Points off for failing to mention Eastover and Myers Park, but you get the idea. Greenville comes in at #17 with the “endemic poverty of eastern NC.”

Top on the list? Bridgeport, Connecticut.
