Elizabeth’s blog of record Under the Water Tower reports that Charlotte police have put a jihad on a wrong-way parking in that neighborhood, writing $25 tickets for the offense. This despite chronic problems with car thefts and home break-ins in the very same neighborhood.
Now, in defense of CMPD I’ll guarantee that somebody in the Elizabeth community complained about the on-street parking situation. Guarantee it.
But at the same time, a little bit of common sense is required here. Put up a big warning sign first before you start writing people up. It would’ve both taken less manpower and given people a chance to avoid a whack in the wallet.
