Forsyth Rep. Dale Folwell —who just announced his candidacy for Lt. Governor —- makes an appearance in this Charlotte Observer article reporting that the thug who murdered a restaurant manager will also be charged in the death of her unborn baby:

“Obviously, the sponsors of this legislation, including myself, never hoped this day would come,” Folwell said. “But we are glad that for the first time North Carolina has joined a lot of the rest of the country to have this tool in the toolbox for district attorneys.”

Folwell said he believed Wednesday’s announcement by Mecklenburg prosecutors marks the first time a charge will be sought for the killing of an unborn baby in North Carolina, although his office is waiting for that confirmation from the N.C. Administrative Office of the Courts in Raleigh.

I read the UPoR –or better yet our sister blog Meck Deck and it seems to me law enforcement and criminal justice are reaching critical mass. I guess you can say that’s what happens when you go getting all big city, but it makes it no less frustrating to watch this stuff going on while the Queen City steps all over itself figuring out how to coronate Barack Obama —again.
