For goodness sake, it is amazing that those who say they’re vigorous supporters of public schools are unwilling to acknowledge fact: charter schools ARE tuition-free public schools. They give parents an option when they’ve determined that a traditional public school classroom isn’t meeting their child’s needs.
Another empowering program passed last year by the General Assembly: opportunity scholarships for low-income kids and kids with special needs. Parents matter, and the General Assembly thankfully realizes that. Unfortunately, progressives are taking legal action that could take away opportunity scholarships from these vulnerable kids and their moms and dads.
