Residents of Orange County – where the controversy over potential merger of its two school districts and the resulting tax increase to some residents is driving the race for county commissioner — heard from Lindalyn Kakadelis this week as the NCEA charter school tour continued to make its way across the state. She also distributed NCEA’s two new brochures: the detailed policy report and the parents guide. The pieces have also gained national attention on the education section of townhall.com, which this week included links to both reports. While in the Triangle, Kakadelis took the call for education reform to NBC 17’s “At Issue,” where she discussed charters and the need to lift the 100-school cap with John Dornan of the Public School Forum of NC. The show airs Sunday at 11 a.m. You can access the reports at www.nceducationalliance.org. Meanwhile, Kakadelis’ column about the Board of Education’s harassment policy appeared in Monroe’s Enquirer Journal.
