Troy Eugene Catoe, 37, was released from prison in September after serving two years on a felony car theft conviction, according to state corrections records. In November Catoe bonded out of the Mecklenburg County jail on a misdemeanor car theft charge.
Yesterday CMPD and the Highway Patrol chased Catoe into South Carolina on the belief Catoe was in possession of goods stolen from vehicles around Charlotte. Catoe bolted and is now back in the Mecklenburg County jail on multiple charges, including felony assault on a government official with a deadly weapon.
