Two men have testified this afternoon that campaign contributions they made in 2003 to former Rep. Michael Decker were cashed, while checks written at the same time to former Rep. Steve Wood went uncashed.

Neither James Testa of Kings Mountain nor Dennis Hall of Concord remembers much about the checks. But both say reviews of their records showed they wrote the checks in January 2003.

That’s the same time frame that Black was fighting for support to win a third term as N.C. House Speaker.
