How would you like a nice little story about how leadership is massaging hairline nuances while perps are running around the streets of Asheville and stealing cars out of garages, falling in dumpsters and being delivered to the recycling center, cracking safes, etc.? Of course you would:

  • Attorney Jennifer Foster visited Buncombe County Magistrate Amanda Fisher to get the names of Occupy Asheville protesters against whom warrants had allegedly been issued.
  • Foster used foul language on the magistrate either one or about five times.
  • The magistrate ruled she was in contempt and sentenced her to five days and imposed a $10,000 bond.
  • The magistrate feared rioting by Occupants should Foster go unscathed.
  • Foster allegedly flaunted the disrespectful language in more than one Facebook post.
  • Foster appealed the conviction.
  • The court records indicate Foster had received at least two warnings about using profanity before being held in contempt.
  • The Court of Appeals ruled the warnings did not constitute opportunities to respond to potential charges.
  • It further decided the $10,000 bond violated established policy.
  • Foster intends to sue at the federal level.

On a positive note, I would like to give a shout out to Representative Nathan Ramsey for being willing to go the extra 350 miles or more today to help one of his constituents as an errand of mercy not related to his high office.
