Even without clumsy emails from former Mecklenburg Sheriff Jim Pendergraph identifying Antoine Ensley, Sheriff Bailey’s Democratic primary opponent, as a “Nick Mackey clone.”
Ensley is out running a tight, focused grassroots campaign while Bailey appears to be in cruise control. That is a dangerous approach for an incumbent when primary turnout might be infinitesimal county-wide.
