Lindalyn Kakadelis spent last week with national figures in the school choice movement when she attended the 2005 Alliance for School Choice Strategy Retreat. Attendees included Governor Bill Owens of Colorado and Jerry Brown, former California governor and current mayor of Oakland. Brown has started two charter schools in Oakland. Kakadelis was invited to the invitation-only event of 150 people due to her work with the Friedman Foundation. The group received updates on the progress of the charter movement throughout the country.
