I agree with Ayn Rand that irrationality is evil. Irrationality, however, seems to be the only language to which control freaks in elective office respond. I signed up for the local Glenn Beck We Surround Them meeting though I haven’t a clue what it is supposed to do except show us-lot can get more hysterical than them-lot. Yes, government stimulus drives me to hysteria. You may join me Friday, March 13, 2009 at 3:30, at the Holiday Inn Express, 435 Smokey Park Hwy, Asheville, (828) 665-2161.

Now, for the McCain-Feingold equal time moment, I present the argument on behalf of the stimulus manure, as presented in an email I received today. As one who despises Obama’s economic plan, I am told I need to pledge support for the plan, and the pledges of the comrades will be proof enough that it’s a good plan.

On Monday, we announced an ambitious new effort called the Organizing for America Pledge Project.

We hope you took part and signed your name to this national display of support as we identify and mobilize supporters of President Obama’s economic plan across the country. But now, we need you to take the next step.

On Saturday, March 21st, thousands of people across the country are organizing our first national day of action by hosting Pledge Project Canvasses, where they’ll talk to their neighbors and ask them to pledge support for this bold plan to restore our economy.

Host a Pledge Project canvass in your neighborhood and build support for President Obama’s economic plan.

We can’t let this plan be debated behind closed doors by special interests or an establishment that doesn’t welcome change.

Change has to come from us. We have to show that ordinary Americans are opening their doors to each other, discussing the need for action and demanding this new direction.

For everyone who questions why the President has offered this plan, these pledges will be the answer: because the American people demanded it.

Join our first national day of action now and host a canvass:
